Orphan Sunday: Be The Light

ROHEI Foundation ROHEI Foundation
This year, ROHEI Foundation is joining Orphan Sunday for the very first time!

Orphan Sunday is a movement observed by churches and organizations in more than 90 nations every second Sunday of November. Last August, we had the privilege of chatting with the Global Director, Jodie Jackson Tucker, who shared with us the heart and vision behind Orphan Sunday, as well as the theme for the year 2020, Be The Light.

One of the many things that inspired us is Orphan Sunday’s One Child Campaign, which is a great reminder to think of orphaned children not just collectively, but as individual girls and boys who are in the most vulnerable of situations, yet at the same time have the deepest faith for the most amazing miracle of being in a family.

This compelled us to think about Filipino children in particular. Now more than ever, they need our prayers—whether they are children who have been aging out of children’s homes because no family has expressed interest to adopt kids their age; children who have been stuck in the system because of the countless delays; or children who have been placed in families but whose papers simply have not moved yet due to factors out of their control.

On behalf of these children, and in partnership with Philippines Without Orphans, we invite you to commit to pray, advocate, and be a light for one of these kids. The mission is simple: sign up below, get matched, and pray for one child. And as you do, invite friends and family to do the same!

We believe that through our individual prayers and collective faith, we will see a great change in the lives of Filipino children. Thank you in advance for doing your part and responding to this call!

Every couple’s journey to parenthood is different. For Zen and Karlo, the journey took 15 years, failed attempts at in-vitro fertilization, a direct adoption that did not materialize, and the heartbreaking loss of a child. Despite these circumstances that could have discouraged them to be parents, this couple remained patient and persevering. Through prayers and […]
